May 20 – Upon arrival in Vancouver transfer to the Rosewood Georgia Hotel. In the late afternoon, our group will gather and enjoy a visit to Gastown for a Welcome Dine Around dinner. You will eat your way through Gastown with a local foodie guide! While walking along cobblestone streets, you will pass through alleys to find hidden gems with chefs cooking handmade and authentic fare within this bustling neighborhood. Sample some of the city’s best poutine, hand tossed pizza and more as your guide leads you from eatery to eatery while sharing the history of the neighborhood and the significance of each dish. You will also sample craft beers, cocktails, and heavenly desserts. Your guide will bring Gastown to life through storytelling with each savory bite.

May 21 – After breakfast, we will begin our tour of the many faces of Vancouver and the surrounding area. This City tour is the perfect combination for those who want to explore both the bustling city and its natural beauty, with plenty of opportunities for spectacular photo shots. First, explore the metropolis of Vancouver from the business district to trendy Yaletown. Catch a glimpse of the city’s mixed Native, European, and Asian cultures in the T&T Asian Market, legendary Chinatown, and historic Gastown. Discover the thriving residential area known as the West End as you head into Stanley Park to see the famous West Coast Totem Poles. Next, cross Lions Gate Bridge to the North Shore for a visit of tranquil Capilano Canyon and observe the life cycle of the Pacific salmon. The grand finale is a walk through the coastal rainforest; enjoy the captivating views of Burrard Inlet and discover lichen, moss, ferns, and flowering plants growing under the mantle of Douglas fir, cedar, and hemlock trees. After working up a healthy appetite, enjoy a picnic lunch.

May 22 – Today is a day to visit by ferry, Victoria Island. Your private coach and driver will meet you at your hotel in Vancouver and drive you to Tswaassen to take the Ferry to Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island. Meet your Victoria local tour guide in nearby Sidney by the Sea and enjoy a scenic drive through the lovely town and seaside. Visit world-renowned Butchart Gardens where you may have a bite at their Blue Poppy restaurant. After lunch, head over to Victoria’s lively Inner Harbor with Parliament building, and famous Empress Hotel, drive through China Town, the oldest in Canada, Fisherman’s Wharf and as time allows a seaside drive along Juan de Fuca Strait, with a stop at Mile 0. Head back to Swartz Bay to catch the 5:00 pm ferry. Arrive at your hotel by 7:30 pm. For those who prefer for an additional cost, we can come back to Vancouver on the sea-plane and enjoy the most gorgeous views of the mountains and the ocean, arriving back around 5:30 pm. Some of the highlights in Victoria: Criaderas Castle: The city of Victoria takes its name from Queen Victoria, who ruled the English Empire from 1837 until 1901. Her reign gave rise to the Victoria era, which, for many British subjects, was a time of culture, refinement, and romanticism. This era is perhaps best encapsulated on Canada’s west coast in Craigdarroch Castle. This castle is the former home of coal baron Robert Dunsmuir, who was the richest and most important man in Western Canada until his death in 1889. Dunsmuir’s house and gardens have been exquisitely preserved; seeing them takes visitors straight into the lives of the Victoria’s rich and famous in the 1890s. Parliament: Overlooking Victoria’s majestic Inner Harbor, the Parliament Buildings are open to the public year-round. Visitors are invited to discover the architectural splendor of the Parliament Buildings and learn about British Columbia’s Legislative Assembly. Butchart Gardens: Just north of Victoria, in the cozy little community of Brentwood Bay, lie the world-famous Butchart Gardens. These gardens, which first began to take shape in 1904, are perhaps the finest you will ever see. Butchart Gardens’ showpiece is their magnificent sunken garden, which is housed in a former rock quarry in the middle of the property. Another central feature is the historic rose garden, which contains a stunning assortment of rose varieties. Other features of this historic 55-acre property include a Japanese garden, an Italian garden, numerous statues, and water features, and the only remaining carousel on Vancouver Island.

May 23 – A day to remember with a drive up one of the most scenic highways in the world. We will travel the Sea to the Sky Highway to Whistler where the Olympics were held in 2012. The scenery is spectacular and you will enjoy lunch and shopping in the village of Whistler and a cable car ride up Blackcomb Mountain.
