September 1 – On arrival at Venice Airport collect your luggage and make your way to the arrivals hall where your driver will await you for your minivan transfer to the hotel. We request you arrive in Venice by 12 noon. 

We depart for San Cassiano in Alta Badia section in the Dolomites and check into Hotel Ciasa Salares . www.ciasasalares.it.

Join your guide for a tour of Milan’s wedding cake cathedral, from the exterior and interior to an elevator ride to the panoramic terrace. The tour culminates at the world-famous Last Supper. Leonardo da Vinci painted this masterpiece on the end wall of the refectory of Santa Maria Delle Grazie in 1495 and its recent restoration has brought all of the emotion and drama of the painting back to life!

The best way to experience the colorful lakeside villages, elegant villas, and Alpine views of the Central Lake Area is from the water, stopping off to visit Villa Balbianello and enjoy lunch at Villa D’Este…
Make yourself comfortable in your private boat for an introductory tour to the Central Lake Area! No trip to Lake Como would be complete without visiting Villa Balbianello, considered by many (ourselves included!) to be the most beautiful villa on Lake Como. After an extensive tour (just over an hour) of the so-called “palace of delights”, we wander the picturesque gardens to enjoy the statues, botanic curiosities, and famous loggia that featured in Star Wars. We will then head to Villa D’Este to enjoy a lovely lunch at La Veranda. La Veranda restaurant at GH Villa D’Este overlooks the Lake and the gardens. Glassed-in or al fresco, windows are automated and can disappear into the ground. In the Summer tables are also set up on the terrace from where guests can admire the stunning lake view. The menu is traditional Italian haute cuisine.

Hike to one of the central lake area’s most picturesque churches…

Join your guide for a leisurely walk to San Martino, stopping briefly in the ancient village of Griante for coffee. The tour continues, following in the footsteps of centuries of pilgrims to the 16th-century Shrine of San Martino. Enjoy the picturesque panorama (and maybe a picnic lunch!) before returning to Tremezzo by way of Griante.
