Depart hometown for Rome
24 APRIL
Arrive Rome and transfer to the SAN CARLO HOTEL in the heart of Rome, near The SPANISH STEPS. www.hotelsancarloroma.com. We are just steps away from the best shopping and restaurants in Italy as well as historic and ancient sites. Tonight we will find a neighborhood restaurant for those that want to start enjoying the food and wine!!
25 APRIL
Today we will spend with Carlo Papini, one of the best guides in all of Rome. Ginny and I have used his services for many of our clients and can guarantee there is no better (or cuter) guide in Rome. We will get an overall view of historic and ancient Rome. Religious Rome will be saved for another special morning. Tonight for dinner, we are "on our own" or "not alone", and for those wanting to dine as a group we will find another good restaurant in the area.
26 APRIL
Today is designated as a "free" day, but we will have lots of suggestions of areas for shopping, art, antiques, and architecture. An optional trip to Florence, by train, is available, or a day trip to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast.
27 APRIL
An early morning train will take us from Rome to Chiusi, a small town in the heart of Tuscany. A mini-bus will collect us for a day of viewing Tuscany, enjoying Chianti wines and Super Tuscans and enjoying olive oil and cheese tastings. In the late afternoon we will re-board the train for our hour ride back to Rome.
28 APRIL
This morning Carlo will rejoin us for a special visit to the Vatican Museums and St. Peters Cathedral. This afternoon, an optional experience will be learning how to make authentic Italian pizza, from a Canadian-Italian who makes the best!!
29 APRIL
A free day to enjoy all of Rome and finish the last minute shopping, and buying that extra suitcase for the items you didn't think you would buy!! Tonight we will share a group farewell dinner together.
30 APRIL
An early morning transfer to the airport and departure for home…
